Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana has made it abundantly clear: he plans to remain at Old Trafford this season, despite swirling speculation linking him to moves abroad. Trusted sources report that Onana is determined to stay unless manager Rúben Amorim explicitly indicates otherwise.

Interest did materialize—from both AS Monaco and the Saudi Pro League—but Onana remains steadfast in his resolve to fight for his place. He is believed to have rebuffed overtures and is currently focused on proving himself under Amorim.

Onana, who arrived from Inter Milan in 2023 under Erik ten Hag for about £43–44 million, holds a contract through 2028. His first two seasons have been a mix of brilliance and costly mistakes, including nine match-impacting errors in one season. Despite criticism, including from former teammate Nemanja Matić, Onana has earned repeated public backing from Amorim, who noted he himself is no stranger to error.

Behind the scenes, United are exploring options to deepen the goalkeeping squad—some reports mention interest in Torino’s Vanja Milinković-Savić and possible bids for Emi Martínez. Yet, Onana’s continued presence signals confidence in his ability to compete and evolve.

With Onana set to return from his hamstring injury—sources say he’s pushing for a place in the starting XI soon—United appear poised to enter the season keeping him as their No. 1 option.
